Dale Habeck, 78, of Bluff Siding died Thursday, July 21, 2016 of Lewy Body Dementia at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. Dale was born November 12, 1937 in Wilson Township, Winona County to Ed and Linda (Haake) Habeck. He graduated from Winona High School in 1955 and entered the U.S. Air Force in July of 1955, stationed in Japan. On November 6, 1965 Dale and Ramona Lebakken were married at French Creek Lutheran Church. Dale and Ramona made their home in Chester, MN for a short time before building a home and moving to St. Charles, MN. He worked for IBM in Rochester as a Tool and Model Maker for 32 years. Following his retirement from IBM Dale and Ramona moved to her family farm at Galesville, where he enjoyed farming and raising Registered Black Angus. They later moved to Bluff Siding.
Dale was a member of French Creek Lutheran Church. He loved anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling, and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona, children; Brian (Brenda) Habeck of Lake Jackson, TX, Jodi (Jeff) Engel of Moberly, MO and Jason (Misty) Habeck of Goodyear, AZ, six grandchildren; Madison, Alexandra, Jackson, Jacey, Allie and Braxton, siblings; Donna (Marvin) Rupprecht of Winona, Diane Erdman of LaMoille, Ron Habeck (Marlene) of Winona, Richard (Jane) Habeck of Winona and Darlene Michalowski of Winona. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Ken, Wayne and Paul Habeck.
Funeral Services will be 11a.m. Monday at French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick with Pastor Anna Sorenson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call form 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Monday.
