Curtis Eldon Howe, 76, died Sunday, July 15, 2007. Born in Caledonia, Minnesota, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ethel Meldahl Howe. He spent the early years of his life in rural Rushford, later moving his family to Winona. Last year, he and his wife moved to Columbia, South Carolina. Curtis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and retired from Sears. He was a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC; previously a member of Community Bible Church, Winona, and Highland Prairie Lutheran Church, Rushford. Visitation is 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, at Hoff Funeral Home, Rushford, Minnesota. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Peterson, Minn. with the Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Box 126, Henderson, NE 68371-0126.Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mattie Howe; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Karen Howe of Carrollton, Texas, Wayne Howe of Rochester, Minnesota, John and Rachael Howe of Phoenix, Arizona and Carl and Effie Howe of Irmo, South Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Donald Wilson of Mascoutah, Illinois: brother and sister-in-law Allen and Kay Howe of Rushford, Minnesota: sister, Madeline Jensen of Ely, Minnesota; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
