St. Charles, Curtis Charles "Curt" Edwards, 81, of St. Charles died Wednesday Morning November 5, 2008 in route to St. Mary's Hospital. Curt was born January 14, 1927 in Utica to Charles and Mary (Olson) Edwards. He was raised on the family farm, south of Utica and attended Worth Country School. He served in the Army during WWII, stationed in Guam. On March 31, 1950 Curt and Kathryn King were married at Utica. They farmed in Utica and St. Charles. Curt then worked for ABS until retiring. He also drove school bus for many years and was a crossing guard until this past spring. Curt and Kathryn enjoyed square dancing, belonging to the Whitewater Whirlers. He loved working with his horses, belonging to; Whitewater Saddle Club, Chatfield Saddle Club and Circle A Saddle Club of Mabel. For many years he took part in the Camp Winnebago Wagon. Curt was a member and past elder of First Presbyterian Church of Utica and was a 32nd degree Mason, belonging to Evergreen Masonic Lodge of Clyde. Survivors include his wife Kathryn, three daughters; Kristin (Jim) Pedersen of St. Charles, Debra (Loren) Hewitt of Rochester and Melody (Todd) Winter of Eyota, six grandchildren; Shane Hewitt, Cory (Andrea) Pedersen, Jesse and Sam Pedersen, Tanner and Taryn Winter. He was preceded in death by his four brothers; Robert, Donald, Clarence and Frank. Funeral Services will be 1:30PM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Utica with The Reverend Tim Gerarden officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Utica. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
