Craig Edward Newcomb, 55 of Winona, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at his home.Craig was born June 28, 1956 in Springfield, Massachusetts to George and June (Tallman) Newcomb, Jr. He was raised in Hampden, MA and later moved to Winona where he spent the last 25 years. He worked for many years at TRW Automotive in Winona. Craig was a member of the First Congregational Church of Winona United Church of Christ, the Church Choir and the Winona Hims. Craig loved antiquing, kayaking, fishing and singing. He was a kind hearted, spiritual man who will forever be remembered for his generosity and love of family.He is survived by his mother, June of Winona; children, Benjamin (Brian) Newcomb of Vermont and Emily (Tim) Hnatow of Massachusetts; grandson, Milo Hnatow; sisters, Laurie (Rusty) Gorski of Connecticut and Brenda (Bryan) Scott of Winona; nieces and nephews, David and Thomas Gorski and Elizabeth, Allison and Brandon Scott.Craig is preceded in death by his father and grandmother, Laura Tallman.A Celebration of Craig's Life will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 19 at First Congregational Church of Winona United Church of Christ with the Reverend Timothy Forester officiating with fellowship immediately following.
