Coralyn Elizabeth Radatz, 89, of Winona, formerly of Lewiston, died Friday, March 15, 2019 at her home. Coralyn was born on March 10, 1930 in Winona to Homer and Cora (Sebo) Goss. She grew up in Lewiston as one of six children on the family farm. Coralyn graduated from Lewiston High School before attending Winona Teaching College and the University of Minnesota. On April 28, 1951 she married Charles Radatz, who had grown up 1 mile down the road on Thackeray Acres. Here they raised their children and continued dairy farming.
Charles and Coralyn were blessed with 4 wonderful children, Chris, Ray, Caryl, and Susan. She taught them the value of hardwork, love for family, and the value of a clean home. She loved children and truly was a giver. At family vacations on the lake she would be the first one in her swim suit to race the grandkids into the water and she wouldn't get out until the last one was ready. She was the best grandma ever!
After her children had left home she started her second career at SEMCAC, overseeing the senior dinning program. After nearly 20 years there, Coralyn took a job as a para professional at Lewiston Public School. She had a way to bond with the children that couldn't be replicated. She was a people person who loved learning your story and telling hers. If Coralyn was a stranger to you, then you haven't walked by her in a hallway yet.
She was active in Lewiston Church of the Brethren, First Congregational Church where she enjoyed being the dessert lady for the Souper Thursday meals, The Arches Museum, Winona Marine Art Museum, and the Lewiston Flower Society.
Coralyn will be deeply missed by her children, Chris (Mary) Radatz, Ray (Diane) Radatz, Caryl (Reggie Bennett) Radatz, Susan (Dennis) Frame; grandchildren, Brandon (Amy), Megan (Bryan), Jason (Carrie), Corinne (Willem), Tim (Amber), Charlie (Adriana), Bryce, John, Carl (Kelsey); 16 great and 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, John (Patty), Anah (Howard), Odean (MaryAnn) and many nieces and nephews. Coralyn is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; Brothers, Ray, Noel (Dorothy).
