Colleen Ann (Carothers) Foss

Colleen Ann Foss, age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Samaritan Bethany in Rochester, MN. She was born on August 10, 1925, in Chatfield, MN, to Merrill and Sara (Sossman) Carothers. Colleen was a lifelong resident of Chatfield, MN, and a proud graduate of Chatfield High School. On September 14, 1957, she married the love of her life, Marvin Foss.

Colleen dedicated many years of her life to her work as a Desk Attendant at Mayo Clinic for the department of Physical Therapy, where she demonstrated kindness and compassion to all she encountered. She retired from her position in August of 1987.

Colleen was known for her unwavering compassion and generosity towards her friends and family. She found joy in caring for others and made everyone feel welcome with her warm and inviting nature. Colleen had a passion for jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, tending to her rose bed, and traveling with Marvin, especially relishing their adventures in Europe and winters spent in Arizona.

Colleen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin, and her son, Edward Brown. She is survived by her loving daughter, Audrey (Brown) Schroeder, her devoted son, Michael Foss, six grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service for Colleen will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Church of Chirst, in Pleasant Grove, MN.  Visitation will one hour before the service at the church.  Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
