EYOTA AND FORMERLY FROM ST. CHARLESClifford Charles Biermann, 92 Eyota and formerly from St. Charles, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.Clifford, the middle of three children, was born April 11, 1921 in Saratoga Township to Thomas and Margaret (Nichols) Biermann. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wehrenberg on September 4, 1946 in Chatfield, and together they raised four children, Kathryn, Karen, Karol and Thomas. A true family man, Clifford always treasured spending time with those he loved. He was a devoted husband and father, an excellent role model, a hardworking farmer, and the best card player. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eyota and also served on the Saratoga Cemetery board. He and Elizabeth delivered for Meals on Wheels for several years and volunteered at the Senior Center. Although he had two left feet, Clifford enjoyed waltz, polka, and square dancing. In 2000, he was able to visit Germany, where he danced for the final time. Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Biermann; daughters,Kathryn(Jim) Brinkman of Lake City, Karen (Jerry) Dee of Byron, Karol (Matt) Fisch of Rochester; son, Thomas Biermann of Casper, WY; grandson, Jason Brinkman of Elgin; granddaughters, Jennifer Gusa of Elgin, Kelsie Fisch of Seattle, and Kassandra Fisch of Rochester; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Cleo Miller of Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Verna Campbell.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Reverend Jon Vollrath of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eyota will officiate.
