Cletus Simon

Elba,          Cletus J. Simon, 88, of Elba died Saturday May 31st at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles.     He was born March 16, 1915 at Fisher Hill in rural Plainview. Cletus worked for Hormel Packing Plant of Austin for 35 years. He retired in 1976 and returned to Elba. Cletus enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing and trapping.      He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba.     Survivors include a sister-in-law Violet Simon of Elba, two nephews, Gerald Simon of Elba and Leo (Marion) Simon of Caledonia, great nephews Brad (Robin) Simon of Elba and Trever (Karen) Simon of Mt. Vernon, IN. A brother Cleon Simon preceded him in death.     There will be a Funeral Mass 1:30 PM Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of services at the church.      Hoff Funeral Home’s - St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
