Claude Carlos Patzner, 77, of St. Charles went to rest on Monday, February 29th surrounded by his loved ones at the home of Mark and Wanda Patzner in St. Charles.
Claude was born to Anton and Blanche (Lejk) Patzner on June 20, 1938 in Arcadia. He graduated from Winona Cotter High School in 1956 and married Darlene Papenfuss on June 18, 1960. They had six children. Claude served in the U.S. Army from 1960 - 1963. Following his return from the service he worked for John Deere of Rochester from 1963 - 1970, then Lewiston Auto 1970 - 71. In 1970 he began farming south of Utica, until his retirement in 2012.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, three sons; Mark (Wanda) Patzner and Rick Patzner of St. Charles, Kevin (Lisa) Patzner of Eyota, two daughters, Debra Patzner of Rochester and Brenda (Mike) Wenger of San Diego, CA, ten grandchildren; Rachel Berg, Amanda & Reese Glover, Jessica & Jordan Patzner, Victoria & Ashley Wenger, Ethan & Rebecca Patzner and Derrick Grimes, one great-granddaughter, Ava MaRay Binner, siblings; Ken (Dee) Patzner of Winona, June (Gene) Krogh of Utah, Richard Patzner of St. Charles, Tony (Pat) Patzner of St. Charles, Jerome (VeAnn) Patzner of Lewiston, Judy (Andy) Danielson of Wayzata, Jeannie (Jerry) Mueller of Houston and Ramona (Dick) Hamman of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lori (Patzner) Grimes, his parents Blanche and Anton, a brother LaVerne Patzner, and an infant brother and sister.
A Funeral Mass for Claude will be 11a.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
