Clarine Augusta Erdmann, 92, of Winona died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Sugar Loaf Senior Living in Winona.Clarine was born on April 29, 1920, in Winona County to August and Clara (Senrick) Feine. She was raised on a farm near Hart. Clarine was united in marriage to William "Boots" Erdmann on August 4, 1945. They lived in the Hart area until they moved to Winona in 1959. Clarine worked as a seamstress at Winona Knitting Mills. Sewing was not only Clarine's career, it was one of her lifelong passions. She sewed clothing for her daughters, grandchildren, friends, and even Santa Claus. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church for 45 years. Within her church, she was active in the women's circle, Bible study, and quilting. After retiring in 1987, her time was filled with the joys of flower gardening and quilting with her sister. However, her most treasured was the time spent with her family. She was most happy when she had a purpose and was busy. She was an extremely patient, content, and practical person. Sometimes too practical. Although she always enjoyed music, in the last few months, she drew much contentment from music both listening and singing. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Susanne Rivers of Winona and Rebecca (Dayle) Valentine of Rochester; grandchildren, Jackie (Bryan) Skof, Jennifer (David) Kanne, Patrick (Jenny) Rivers, Christopher (Suzie) Rivers, and Andrew (Tiffany Thompson) Valentine; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Vernice Popa; brother, Vernon Feine; sister-in-law, Mildred Feine; and many nieces and nephews. Clarine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William "Boots"; son-in-law, Dennis Rivers; brother and sister-in-law Louis and Dollie Feine, brother Victor Feine sister and brother-in-law Vila and Lester Holz, brother-in-law Irv Popa, and sister-in-law Ethel Feine.Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at St. Martin's Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 11am.
