St. Charles, Clarice Lois Dahl, 99, of St. Charles died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital Emergency Room in Rochester. Clarice was born December 21, 1911 in Clyde Township of Winona County to Clair and Selma (Erickson) Braithwaite. She was baptized and confirmed at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church. Clarice and Andy Dahl were married on October 16, 1935 at Pilot Mound. They farmed on the Dahl family home farm at Pilot Mound before moving to St. Charles in 1945. In St. Charles Clarice worked at Home Produce for many years. She then worked for Rush Products in Lewiston, retiring with a certificate for perfect attendance. Clarice loved to work with her flowers. And she enjoyed horses, fishing and boating. She was an active member of the St. Charles United Methodist Church and belonged to Whitewater Riders Saddle Club. The St. Charles Senior Citizen group was a big part of her life. Clarice loved to keep track of her family and their lives. Survivors include four children; Robert (Phyllis) Dahl of Chatfield, Sharon Kranz of Rochester, Ronald Dahl of Wabasha and John "Jack" (Marie) Dahl of Dover, a son-in-law Chuck Kraemer of Mabel, 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband Andy in 1994, parents, a daughter Carol, a grandson Randy Allen, a great-grandson Tanner Allen, her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral Services to remember Clarice will be 1PM Thursday at St. Charles United Methodist Church with the Reverend Heather E. Klason officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles.
