Clarence Edward Hartman, 87, of St. Charles died Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester. Clarence was born April 27, 1932 in Lakefield, MN to John and Anna Marie (Clausen) Hartman. He graduated from Lakefield High School and went on to graduate from Mankato State College with a degree in education. Clarence served in the United States Navy from 1952 - 1956, during the Korean War. Clarence and Lois Beckman were married June 30, 1957 at Wells, MN. They moved to Charles in 1963, where Clarence taught Industrial Arts until retiring in 1981. He worked for IBM and Phillips Bus Company of Rochester following his teaching career. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge, American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars posts all in St. Charles.
Survivors include two sons, Craig (Renae) Hartman of St. Charles and Jeff (Karen) Hartman of Rochester, three grandchildren, Breanna (Hans) Estby, Michael and Morgan Hartman, two great-grandchildren Isaac and Ethan Estby and a brother John Hartman of Lake Havasu, NV. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Lois in 2005, two brothers, Vernon and Floyd and three sisters, Eva, Marcella and Betty.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Jason Burggraff officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday, December 19th at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
