Clarence Henry Pomeroy, 91, of Minnesota City, MN. passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. Clarence was born on May 26, 1928, to Otis and Ruth (Lampman) Pomeroy in Walker, MN. Clarence served in the U.S. Army and in the Korean War. While in Korea he befriended a little boy from the village and would give him candy and dollars. He later named his first born son after that little boy "Kim".
On November 28, 1953, he married Bonnie Burt. They were married for 62 years until her death in 2016. Clarence worked at Wrico Stamping 40+ years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, taking care of his yard, collecting coins, feeding wildlife, watching the packers & any sport he could, playing cards, and giving candy to all his great grandkids. He is survived by his three children, David (Sue) of Adell, WI, Danny Pomeroy of Minnesota City. MN, and Ann (Jim Kaul) Pomeroy of Hubertus, WI; daughter-in-law, Janet Pomeroy-Bohn of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Don Pomeroy Jr., Tony Bohn, Amanda Walters, Dale (Jenny) Hedrick, Jr., Dana (Jared) Merkel, Shannon (Jason Meier) Pomeroy, Joshua (Lauren Krahn) Pomeroy, Tracy (Billy) Marshalek, Michael Pomeroy, Jo'el Pomeroy, and Christopher Pomeroy; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers Lawrence, "Bud", Otis, and Duane Pomeroy; and many nieces and nephews. Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, son, Donald "Kim" Sr., sisters, Jenny, Charlotte, Rosie, and one brother, Archie.
Services to celebrate Clarence's life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview, led by funeral celebrant Dianne Rislow. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. A reception will follow services. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Utica. Military Honors will be conducted following services by Winona Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1287.
