Christine Marie Spitzer

St. Charles, Christine Marie Spitzer, 93, of St. Charles died Tuesday July 12, 2005 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Christine was born December 7, 1911 in St. Charles to John K. and Catherine (Dasheal) Fix. She attended St. Charles Schools. Christine and Harry Henry Spitzer were married September 1, 1932. The couple farmed in rural St. Charles and later moved to town. Christine worked for Home Produce, Carl Fisher and Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Harry died December 10, 1998. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Survivors include a son Paul (Arlene) Spitzer of Rochester, two daughters; Shirley (Joseph) Heim of St. Charles and Bonnie (Mike) Kemple of Jamul, CA, a son-in-law Joseph Leisen of St. Charles, a daughter-in-law Jane Spitzer of Rochester a step sister Florence Onslow of Minneapolis, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, William and Richard, two daughters, Evelyn and Kathryn two grandchildren, Matthew and an infant boy Leisen, five sisters, Mary, Amanda, Ann, Elizabeth and Hannah, two half sisters, Joann and Helen, and seven brothers, Peter, Paul, Patrick, Joseph, Albert, John and William. There will be a Funeral Mass at 10 AM Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
