Cheryl "Cherie" Ann Shaw, age 66, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Leaving us too soon and missing her laughter.
Cheryl Ann Lorbiecki was born, Feb. 28, 1958, in Winona to Tom and Josephine (Decker) Lorbiecki. She graduated from Winona Cotter, received her Administrative Assistance from Winona Technical College, using these skills as her employment at Strongwell Corporation in Chatfield. She used her Administrative Secretary skills to keep the candy jar filled, the coffee pot fresh, and the enjoyment of handling and setting up business contacts. She retired in 2021. Cherie loved crafting, gardening, and visiting on the phone daily to her sister, often to her cousin, Debbie, and endless calls and texts to her lovely daughters. If you happened to see Cherie at Kwik Trip or Dollar General, most likely you had a pleasant conversation. She loved people. Her hidden qualities were her love of gambling and sweets. Her love of Bloedow's pastries, a good cup of Cabin Coffee, and the latest of Oreo's and candy. She knew the newest type of candy long before anyone else, and she would have already tried it. But by far, the sweetest treats in her life, were her grandkids- Luke and Lily Cordes. If mom says “no”- ask Grandma Cherie. Cherie was married to Jeff Beech and that gave her twin daughters, Julie and Jen. Her absolute joys. Cherie later married Terry Shaw. Close to 20 years of love, Terry taught Cherie the joys of horses, camping and trail-riding.
Cherie will be greatly missed by her husband, Terry of Chatfield, her twin daughters, Julie (Chris) Cordes of Kenyon, and Jen Beech, of Winona, her sister; Mary Jo (Steve) Mickschl of LaCrescent MN, two sisters in law, Marie Lorbiecki of Minneapolis and Donna Aas of Chatfield. She is further survived by nieces and nephews; Sabrina and Terese Lorbiecki, Damien Mickschl, Amanda (Kennedy) Mickschl, Austin Mickschl, and Nicole (Aas) McCabe, and her favorite cousin, almost like a sister, Debbie Beech of Lewiston. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard (Dick) Lorbiecki, and brother-in-law Art Aas and Terry's parents Spence and Betty Shaw.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10 -12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Chatfield Cemetery. Riley Funeral Home is assisting the Shaw family with arrangements.
