Cheryl Ileene Wendorf Burk, 69, of Chatfield passed away at her home on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
Cheryl was born March 13, 1948 in Bertha, Minnesota to Irwen and Lavay (Burzette) Wendorf.
She graduated from Sauk Rapids High School. She then attended St. Cloud State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Education. She taught in the Wykoff/Kingsland public school system from 1971-2007. She later worked at EZ fabricating in Chatfield.
Cheryl had many interests in the community. She enjoyed being involved with anything that she could help organize. She was a member of Wykoff/Kingsland Education Association, the National Education Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church Altar Society; St. Theresa/Veronica Division.
On June 16, 1973 she married Daniel M. Burk in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.
Cheryl is lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years Daniel; son: Shawn (Amy) Burk of Amsterdam, Netherlands; grandchildren: Claire Marie and Reid Matthew; and Sister Renea (Tane) Barclay of Pillager, Minnesota.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chatfield with Father Edward McGrath officiating. A time of visitation and sharing will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 6, also at the church and continue one hour prior to the Mass on Friday.
A committal will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield.
