HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, RUSHFORD, MINN. 507-864-7771 RUSHFORD, MINN. - Cherrie B. Eide, 93, of Rushford died on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Cherrie was born on January 4, 1917, in rural Peterson, Minn. to Clarence and Bertina (Brenden) Bremmer. She was raised in rural Peterson and attended Boyum School. On December 30, 1936, she married Melford Eide at North Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, Minn. The couple moved to Rushford where Cherrie worked with her husband at Melford Eide Trucking. She ran the lunch stand at Bremmer Sales Barn in Rushford with her sister. She worked at Johnson Coffee Shop and the Tri County Record in Rushford. She volunteered as an Election Judge in Rushford for many years. Cherrie was a member of North Prairie Lutheran Church for many years where she was President of the Ladies Aid. She later became a member of Rushford Lutheran Church, and the Rushford Garden Club. One of Cherrie's favorite things to do was to go to the Minnesota State Fair every year. She is survived by three children: Donna (JC) Van Gundy of Houston, Minn., Stanley (Kathy) Eide of Harmony, Minn. and Darrell Eide of Rushford, Minn.; son-in-law, Ronald Dybing of Houston, Minn.; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alta Mae (Stanley) Veir of Rushford; sister-in-law Wanda Eide of Peterson, Minn.; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Cherrie was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Cynthia Dybing. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
