Charlotte B. (Rolfshus) Hanson

December 20, 1926 — February 3, 2017

Charlotte B. Hanson, age 90, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Traditions of Preston Assisted Living Center.  She was born in Spring Grove, Minnesota, on December 20, 1926, to Conrad and Julia (Larson) Rolfshus.  She graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1944.  She and Gordon Hanson were united in marriage on September 26, 1945 in Lanesboro.  They farmed in the Lanesboro area until 1990 when they moved to Kenilworth Apartments in Lanesboro.

Charlotte loved the country life and helped with all the farm chores.  She also loved her vegetable and flower gardens.  She spent most of her life as a homemaker, but was also employed by Jack's Cafe, the Lanesboro Produce, and Dencor in Petersen.  Charlotte's faith was very important to her and she was a life-long member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro.

Charlotte is survived by four loving children:  one son - Richard (Bonny Engen), Whalan, MN, and three daughters - Linda (Don) Gray, Racine, MN; Joyce (Phil) Herrick, Rochester, MN; and Kathy Urbatsch, Mankato, MN.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters; one sister-in-law Beverly Hanson, Lanesboro, MN in Lanesboro.  and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Julia Rolfshus; her husband, Gordon Hanson; two brothers, Rudolph Rolfshus and Bernard Rolfshus; a sister, Bernice Buchanan, and a son-in-law, Randy Urbatsch.

Charlotte was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by all.  Her generous and loving spirit lives on in the hearts of all those who knew her.

A Funeral Service for Charlotte will be held on Wednesday, February 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, MN, with the Pastors Kerry and Cindy Eversole officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, February 7, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.  Interment will take place at the Lanesboro Cemetery.
