SEVERN, MARYLAND AND FORMERLY FROM WINONACharlotte A Servais, formerly of Winona MN passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Tate Hospice House in Maryland after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer.Charlotte was born June 8, 1935 to Willard and Irma (Isabell) Osgood in the Town of Irving, WI. She was a graduate of Melrose High School. She was united in marriage to Bernard E Servais on February 13, 1956. They had 5 children.Charlotte and Bernie were self-employed entrepreneurs their whole married life. Together they owned and operated 6 different taverns and restaurants in Hokah MN, Lewiston MN, and Stockton MN. In those years they farmed in the Hokah and Lewiston area. She was also an independent contractor for 20 years with the Winona Daily News.Survivors include two sons , Gary (Tracy) of Detroit MI and David (Theresa) of Severn MD; three daughters, Sondra (Brian Beauvais) of Boca Raton FL, Kim Grcic of Winona MN, and Teresa Klinger of Wisconsin Dells WI; two stepsons, Ron (Myra) Servais Midwest City OK and Bernard J (Bonnie) Servais of Rochester MN; two brothers: Sheldon (Jennifer) Osgood of Flagstaff AZ and Dennis (Diane) Osgood of Mindoro WI; five sisters, Helen (Richard) Gates of Onalaska WI, Karen (RC) Johnson of Holmen WI, Doris (Ed) Soukup of Sparta WI, Arleen Huber of Onalaska WI and Sherry (Bruce) Woods of Madison WI and sister-in-law, Mickey Osgood of Milwaukee. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other extended family. Charlotte was preceded in death by Bernie in 2003, her parents, brother Wendell, brother- in- law Robert Huber, and son-in-law Bill Klinger.The family prefers memorials be directed to the Winona Chapter of Habitat for Humanity or the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Maryland.A celebration of life is being planned by her children. Dates and times will be announced at a later date.
