HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE - HOUSTON, MINN. 507-896-3127 HOUSTON, MINN. - Charles W. Westby, 83, of Houston died on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Valley View Care and Rehab Center in Houston. Charles was born on November 23, 1927, in Caledonia, Minn. to Christian and Sarah (Houge) Westby. He was raised in Houston. On April 1, 1950, Charles was united in marriage with Joan "Joey" Wirig. He worked for Woll Dairy in Rushford, Houston Liquor Store as manager, Money Creek Coop Creamery, Swiss Valley Farms Regional Rep., Hoff Funeral Home, and Valley High Golf Course. Charles was caretaker of the Money Creek Cemetery for 40 years. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston where he was President and council member, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Winona. Charles was an avid Packer Fan, Golfer and loved traveling. He is survived by his wife, Joey; son, Chuck (Cindy) Westby of Winona, Minn.; grandson, Chad Westby of Winona, Minn.; granddaughter, Chelsie (Matt Kiekbusch) Westby of Dover, Minn.; great-grandson, Mason; sisters: Margie Sather of Houston and June Appinel of San Jose, Cal.; sister-in-law, Joycelyn Westby of Houston and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his brothers: Harley and Vernon; brothers in law: Jerry Wirig, Allen Sather and Herman Appinel; and sister-in-law, Velma Westby. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Lane Zaffke officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery in Money Creek. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. There will be a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
