WINONACharles Tyrone (Ty) Hill of Winona, MN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 8th, 2013 in Borrego Springs, CA, his much beloved desert home here on earth, where he and his wife, Susan, spend their winters. He always said, "I am just passing through this world on my way to my Heavenly Home where I will see the face of my Lord and God Jesus Christ." He was looking forward to his Eternal Life with great joy.Tyrone was born in Riceville, IA on January 1, 1941 to Montell and Alice Hill. He was special from the moment he was born as he was the "New Year Baby" in Riceville. He moved with his family to San Diego, CA when he was 17 years old. He thought it was the most beautiful place on earth and that he would never leave until the first time he visited a place called Comptche, a breathtaking town set among the majestic redwoods in northern CA. He bought a piece of land and became a rancher, then started his own business called Mendocino Mineral Water. He donated some of his land for a church that was named Chapel of the Redwoods, where his friend and mentor Dick Coolidge was pastor and Ty was a deacon. One of Ty's greatest joys was helping build this chapel community alongside Dick. Ty became a Gideon, passing out many bibles and leading many people to the Lord, including his wife, Susan (McCarthy) Hill. Sue and Tyrone lived in Comptche until the year 2000 when they moved to Winona, MN to be near Sue's beloved children.Tyrone became an active member at Cornerstone Community Church in Winona, where he was influenced by his mentor Glen Sanders. Ty felt blessed to be a part of both of his special church families. Ty is survived by his little Riceville Sweetheart, Suzie Bell, as he fondly referred to her; his beautiful daughter Summer; his granddaughter Glory; five stepchildren, Cindy (Gregg) Huggenvik, Clay (Theresa) Biggerstaff, Jaime (Barb) Biggerstaff, David (Sherry) Biggerstaff, Mike (Julie) Biggerstaff and their children, John and Andrea, Christopher, Bailey and Jared, David, Kristi and Brian, and Sarah; 11 great grandchildren; He is also survived by his three beautiful sisters Virginia (Ruben), Beverly and Iris (Sammy); his brother and best friend Tommy (Shirley); his sister-in-law Dorothy; his mother Alice and stepfather Paul; his Aunt Jessie; also six beautiful nieces DruAnn, Rachel, Fay, Melanie, Heidi and Jennifer; his favorite nephew Garry; his brother-in-law Jim McCarthy; sisters-in-law Nancy (Keith) Johnson and Marilyn (Bill) Kay; and his precious constant companion Peekaboo.
