Charles B. Henry

Charles B. Henry, 84, of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of St. Charles died June 18, 2010 at his home in Sun City. Charles was born January 29, 1926 in Lewiston to George and Lucy (Firth) Henry. He served in the Navy from 1944-1946, stationed in the South Pacific. He and Claudia Mason were married May 23, 1953. Charles received his nursing degree through St. Mary's School of Nursing, working as a private duty nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester and in private residences. With a group of St. Charles business owners he built Whitewater Manor Nursing Home in St. Charles and served as Nursing Home Administrator for many years. In St. Charles he was active in the United Methodist Church, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge. The couple retired to Schell Lake, Wisconsin and wintered in Sun City, Arizona. In 1990 they began living in Sun City year around where he belonged to Grace Bible Church. Charles enjoyed woodworking, golfing, playing cards, boating, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was strong moral values and knew the Lord. He is now with him in Heaven. Survivors include his wife Claudia, a daughter, Cynthia (Tom) Sinn of Stewartville, four grandchildren; Adam (Nicole) Sinn, Eric (Emily) Sinn, Kara (Andy) Kuisle and Jonathon Henry, four great-grandchildren; Amelia, Olivia, Kylie and Garrett, two brothers, Dr. Kenneth (Doris) Henry and Dr. John Henry both of Owatonna. He was preceded in death by a son Craig, one sister and brother. Friends may gather at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 21 with the Reverend Lyle Fritsch of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stewartville officiating graveside services.
