HOUSTON, MINN. - Charles A. "Charlie" Anderson, 62, of rural Houston, Minn. died on Monday, March 30, 2009, at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis. Charlie was born on March 13, 1947, in LaCrosse, Wis. to Victor and Ruth (Stanford) Anderson. He was raised in Houston until 1959, when he moved with his family to Glenville, Minn. Charlie Graduated from Glenville High School in 1965. He attended Austin Community College for one year. Charlie graduated from Austin Vo-Tech's Carpentry Program. He worked various farming jobs in Southeastern Minnesota. Charlie then worked for the Houston - Money Creek Coop Creamery in Houston until he purchased and operated his own farm south of Houston. In addition to farming, Charlie also worked for the Rushford - Houston Feed Mill, hauling feed. He was a member of the Houston Fire Department. His loves were people, farming, and the hills of Houston. Charlie is survived by two sisters: Jeanette (Bob) Divine of Austin, Minn. and Kathy (David) Farlinger of LeRoy, Minn.; nieces and nephews: Christopher Lapinski, Mandy (Branden) Strong, David (Stacy) Farlinger and their two sons, Xander and Tyler, Jamie (Julie) Farlinger and their three children, Brianna, Devin and Ethan, and Brad Farlinger; and by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, at the Houston Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Donald Range officiating. Burial will be in the Swede Bottom Cemetery in Houston. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
