Cecile Phyllis Tushner

Cecile Phyllis Tushner, 94, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, MN. Cecile was born October 30, 1913, in Winona, MN to Francis and Mary (Szuminski) Miller. She married Daniel J. Tushner on December 29, 1945, in LaJolla, CA. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2001. Cecile was a long time homemaker who loved to garden flowers and travel. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, former member of the Polish Heritage Society, member of NAMI and a member of Westfield Golf Club where she enjoyed golfing and playing cards. Survivors include her two children, Paul Tushner and Marilyn Tushner both of Winona, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Jr., her parents, six brothers, Harry, Floyd, Frank, Sylvester, George and Stanley and four sisters, Mary, Helen, Clara and Wanda.A celebration of Cecile's life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008, at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with funeral celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will take place at later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona, MN.
