Catherine Sackett, 98, died Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles, MN. The former Catherine Palmby was born November 15, 1906 in Henning, MN to Jessie and Catherine (Duffy) Palmby. Her family moved to the Dover, MN area when she was a small child. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1926. On April 14, 1931 she married Layton Sackett in St. Charles, MN. She helped her husband with his job with Greenway Co. and later worked for Clover Apartments until entering Whitewater Healthcare Center in August 1996. Layton preceded her in death on August 21, 1992. Catherine was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and it's St. Ann's and St. Jude's Rosary Society. Catherine enjoyed gardening, dancing, making afghans and playing cards. Survivors include three sons, James (Phyllis) of Anaheim, CA, Kenneth (Marilyn) of Arlington Heights, IL and Keith (Joyce) of St. Charles, MN; one daughter, Kathleen (Benjamin) Ellsworth of Rochester, MN; 8 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Riesdorf of St. Charles, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Layton, brother, William, two sisters, Josephine and Clairebell and one grandchild.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, October 15, 2004 at 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend James Callahan officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles, MN. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ? St. Charles Chapel on Thursday from 4-8:00pm where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30pm and a Christian Prayer Service at 7:30pm. Friends may also call from 9-10:00am at the funeral home on Friday.
