Carolyn Sue Busian, 76, of Dover died Tuesday, October, 16, 2018 at her home. Carolyn was born April 16, 1942 in Rochester to Bernard and Alice (Smith) Busian. She grew up in the family home south of Dover and graduated from St. Charles High School. Carolyn married Orville Matzke and later divorced. She later married Gordon Mahoney and they later divorced. Carolyn worked in Mayo Clinic's history department, until her retirement. She lived in Eyota, St. Charles and Stewartville before returning to live on the Busian family farm with her daughter, in addition to wintering in Arizona for several years. Carolyn enjoyed making crafts, painting and listening to the Minnesota Twins.
She was a member of the Dover Community Church. She was a kind, caring person, always thinking of others before herself.
Survivors include her two children, Brenda (Jeff) Olsgard of Dover and Bret (Veronica) Mahoney of Rochester, grandchildren; Nicole, Dustin (Kelly), Jordan (Corinna), Brennan and Candy, great-grandchildren; Carson, Jachin, Jesiah, Jaxton, Israel, Korrah and Essence and her sister Mary Hanenberger of Dover. She was preceded in death by her son Bruce Matzke, a great-grandson Myles Matzke, a brother Terry Busian and her nephew Terry Hanenberger.
Services to celebrate Carolyn's life will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Heather E. Klason of Dover Community Church officiating. A time of reception will follow services. Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Dover.
