Carol Marilyn Findreng passed away on July 20,2012 in St. Peter, MN after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on June 10, 1928 in Houston, MN. She graduated from Houston High School in 1946 and went on to be that schools first school secretary. She then worked at the Houston State Bank. In 1951 she left the small town life for the big city, embarking on a career that would encompass nearly half of her life. She became a executive secretary with McGarvey Coffey, Inc of Minneapolis and eventually becoming the Corporate Secretary of the Company. She was a member of the Minneapolis Women's Breakfast Club and she was a choir member of many of the churches she was a member of, including Christ English Lutheran Church, Gethsemane Lutheran Church and Evangelical Lutheran Church of Houston.Carol was an avid traveler, making many trips across the US as well as many countries. She also enjoyed her hometown Houston, where she maintained connections her entire life. Carol moved to St. Peter from St. Louis Park as her disease progressed to be closer to family. Carol is proceeded in death by her parents, Anton and Evelyn Findreng of Houston, MN. She is survived by her sister Lola (Ken) Douglas of St. Peter, two nieces Pamela Orr and Emily Douglas, and two nephews, Stuart and Steven Douglas, and their families, spouses, children and grandchildren, as well as many cousins and friends. She is also survived by her dearest friend and travel companion, Marlys Elofson of Crystal, MN.The family would like to thank the many caregivers who helped Carol with this journey, including the Benedictine Living Community, Pheasants Ridge and Heritage Meadow of St. Peter and the Mankato Hospice.
