HOUSTON, MNCarol Beth Thompson, age 87, was united with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab in Houston, Minnesota. Carol was born on February 27, 1926 to Charles and L. Belle (Corey) Coulson. She was a lifelong resident of the Money Creek and Houston area. She married Dale M. Thompson on August 17, 1946. Carol was a wife, mother, homemaker, and retired employee of Rush Products (TRW), Rushford, Minnesota.Carol is survived by a son, Joel (Sue) Thompson of Winona; and daughters Linda (Rick) Thrune of Winona, Beth (Allen) Klinski of Caledonia, and Sheila Chapel (Howie Wiedman) of La Crescent; Grandchildren Dale (Patti) Kelso of Winona, Jen (Lawrence) Johnson of Duluth, Theresa (Dave) Longhorn of O'Fallon, Illinois, Amanda (Rob) Monk of Minnesota City, Jeremy (Dawn) Klinski of La Crescent, Kevin (Aimee) Klinski of Winona, Brandon (Jackie) Van Gundy of Kansas City, Missouri, Tim (finance' Tammy Enge) Thrune of Winona, and Korto Thrune of Winona; 17 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; 3 brothers Dwight (Pat), Joseph (Eleanor), and David (Julie); and sisters Dorothy (Kenneth) Chapel and June (Henry) Eaton. Carol enjoyed playing card games with family and friends. Her love of nature would often find her trout fishing, bird-watching or spending time in her flower gardens. She was a member of the La Crescent United Methodist Church in recent years, but grew up in the Money Creek United Methodist Church. A celebration of Carol's life will be held 12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 30th at Money Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Strom officiating. Burial will be alongside her husband in Money Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29th from 5-8 PM at Hoff Funeral Home in Houston, Minnesota and one hour prior to the service in Money Creek.The family would like to thank staff of the Valley View Healthcare and Gundersen Lutheran's Hospice and Pastor Care for their care and compassion in her final days.
