St. Charles,Carmen Kay Stevens, 72, of St. Charles died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Carmen was born July 8, 1940 in Rochester to Douglas and Lorraine (Jameson) Watts. She and Robert Stevens were married October 9, 1956 in Rochester. Carmen worked for Mayo Clinic in Rochester for several years. Carmen and Robert enjoyed boating, camping, traveling and spending time with family. Carmen also enjoyed crocheting afghans, crafting, and collecting Western and Indian memorabilia. She loved to watch her hummingbirds.Survivors include her husband Robert, six children; Calvin Stevens, Carrie (Gordy) Urban, Nadine Faupel, Teresa (Allan) Kraft and Carmel Scott all of St. Charles, Carol (Randall) Gerber of Lake City, 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Sandra Jorgensen of Utica and Pam (James) O'Brien of Byron, and a brother Ronnie (Sue) Watts of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her mother Lorraine Wheelock, step-father Edward Wheelock, father Douglas Watts a brother-in-law Larry Jorgensen and a great-grandson.Services to Celebrate Carmen's life will be 11AM Saturday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles with Funeral Celebrant Jenny Hoff presiding. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM Friday and one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home. A reception will be held at the funeral home following services.
