Carl N. Morken

SPRING GROVE, MINN. - Carl N. Morken, 78, of Spring Grove and formerly of Houston, Minn. died on Sunday, January 13, 2008, at the Tweten Lutheran Care Center in Spring Grove. Carl was born on January 16, 1929, in LaCrosse, Wis. to Solvie and Karen (Dolalie) Morken. He was raised in rural Houston and lived in the area all of his life. He worked as a mechanic in area shops over the years. Carl was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving in Germany. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston and the American Legion Post in Houston. He is survived by one brother, George (Marleen) Morken of Spring Grove; five nieces and nephews: Nancy (Steve) Welper, Laurie Peck, Wayne Morken, Gary (Sue) Morken and Lisa Morken. Carl was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at noon on Thursday, January 17, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. Burial will be in the Stone Church Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
