HOUSTON, MN - Burdette Lynd Unnasch, 84, of Houston, MN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab in Houston.
Burdette was born in Money Creek Township of Houston County on April 11, 1932, to Myron and Dorothy (Lind) Unnasch. He was raised in the Houston area and was a 1950 graduate of Houston High School. Burdette was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Newfoundland as a heavy equipment operator engineer. On October 24, 1959, he was united in marriage with Janice Peterson. He worked in the greater Houston area as a heavy equipment operator for his entire career. After his retirement, Burdette enjoyed beef, dairy and crop farming. Since 1971, he has lived on his family's Century Farm. Burdette was a gentle, patient, kind hearted, hardworking man, who loved nature and always put his family first.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; two children: Kevin (Gina) Unnasch of Houston, and Brenda (Michael) Miller of Caledonia, MN; four grandchildren: Aaron Lynd Unnasch, and Lewis, Jack and Maria Miller; and by one brother, Dale (Evangeline) Unnasch of Grantsburg, WI.
Burdette was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a funeral service for him at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Linda McPeak officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
