Bonnie Lou Peterson

YUCATAN, MINN. Bonnie Lou (Meyer) Peterson, 63, died at home on Thursday, June 2, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. Bonnie was born September 12, 1941 to Raymond and Alice (Johnson) Meyer in Caledonia, MN. She was the sixth of eleven children. She graduated form Caledonia High School in 1960. On June 1, 1963, she married Duane Peterson of Yucatan. She worked at home on the family farm in Yucatan and for several years was manager of the Houston IGA. She enjoyed cooking for large groups of family and friends, camping, 4-wheeling, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an avid bowler for many years and her many travels, included visiting China, Mexico, and Jamaica. She was artistically talented and made many lawn and seasonal decorations. Survivors include, her husband Duane, two daughters, Linda (Alan) Mathison, Preston, MN, Debra (Michael) Martin, Cresco, IA, two sons, James, Houston, MN and Jeffery (Shannon), Prescott, WI; five grandchildren, four brothers; Dale (Mary) Meyer, Caledonia, Butch (Dawn) Meyer, Caledonia, Terry (Mary) Meyer, Dakota, MN, Alan (Sandy) Meyer, Caledonia, and one sister Judy (David) Frank, Houston, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Jeanie, Leona, Betty, and two brothers; Leroy and Gary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. Rev. Lane Zaffke will be the officiant. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 6, at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Houston Chapel, and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Yucatan Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Yucatan Cemetery Fund. Friends and family may leave a memory at hofffuneralhomes.com.
