Rollingstone, MNBonnie L. Bambenek, 67, of Rollingstone, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI, surrounded by her loved ones. Bonnie was born November 10, 1936 in Winona, MN to Frank and Myrtle (Ecke) Ciszak. She married Gerald "Jerry" Bambenek on July 13, 1957 in Winona, MN. Bonnie's love of life and sense of humor were contagious and she brought joy to all who had the privilege to have known her. She liked to spend her time gardening, reading, cooking, playing cribbage and most of all caring for her family. Bonnie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone and had worked at Herff-Jones in Lewiston until her retirement. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her children, Lynne Bambenek of St. Paul, MN, Mark (Jean) Bambenek of Winona, Sandy Fakler (Keith Rhoden) of Lewiston, MN and Ellen (Jim) Brand of Winona; her loving grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan Bambenek, Jason and Sarah Fakler and Kelsie Brand; and sisters, Betty Bilder, Shirley Budnick and Nancy (Jack) Sheridan all of Winona, MN. She was preceded death by her parents, brother, "Sonny" and sisters, Joan Thein and Jane Michalowski.A Memorial Mass to celebrate Bonnie's life will be offered on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Rev. Michael Cronin officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Hoff Funeral Homes ? Burke Winona Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
