Bonita "Bonnie" Mabel Thill, 91, of Lewiston, MN died on Friday afternoon, September 22, 2017, at St. Anne's Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN surrounded by her family.
Bonnie was born on April 26, 1926, in Wyattville, MN to James and Mabel (Svenningson) Boynton. She married Milton Thill on May 9, 1946, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston. Milton and Bonnie farmed on Garvin Heights Ridge for many years. The couple then moved to Lewiston in 1967. While raising her family, Bonnie worked at Randall's Cafe in Winona. She also worked as a cook at the Lewiston High School until her retirement in 1994. In her retirement, she volunteered at Winona Health. Bonnie was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston where she was a member of the St. Rita's Circle. She enjoyed working at the church brunches and the Mission Supper. Bonnie delivered meals on wheels and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to play cards and Bingo with her friends as well as making home-made buns and sweet rolls for her family Sunday brunches. In recent years, Bonnie lived in the East Burns Valley Apartments until moving into Callista Court in Winona.
Bonnie is survived by her four daughters: Jennifer (Larry) Rupprecht, Pamela (Steve) Reps, Keri (John) Prigge, and Wendy (Pete) McMartin, all of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren: Michelle (Chris) Rolbiecki, Jayson (Nelly) Thill, Stacey Rupprecht, Brad Rupprecht, Shawn (Ali) Reps, Shannon (Brett) Decker, Samantha Rucinski, Sara Reps, Shelly (Mike) Kronebusch, Danielle (Mark) Thompson, Joshua (Kelly) McMartin, Justin (Kari) McMartin, and Joe (Gail) McMartin; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton in 2005; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Janice; three brothers: David, Vernold, and Roger Boynton; and by one sister, Esther Senrick.
Casket bearers will be her six grandsons.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Reverend Glenn Frerichs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
