LeRoy Robert "Bob" Schott, 80, of rural Lewiston died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home on the family farm. Bob was born on the family farm, to William and Izetta (Hislop) Schott, on June 7, 1938. He and Phyllis Vorbeck were married January 15, 1963 in Winona and farmed the family farm their entire married lives. He was a dairy farmer and drove limestone truck for Schott Trucking. Bob was interested in tractors, having done repair work for many neighbors. He enjoyed stock car racing, serving as mechanic for the team of Lee Rain, Sr., Denny Schott and Daryl Erion. On the farm, Bob was the straw boss and supervisor. He made sure everyone kept on task with the daily duties he assigned them. Bob told everyone what they needed to get done, down to his last day.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis, seven children, Jeremy (Tina) Schott of Lewiston; Jason (Carrie) Schott of St. Charles; Justin Schott of Lewiston; Jennifer (Adam) Krause of Fountain City, WI; Jack (Leah) Schott of Lewiston; Jesse (Stephanie) Schott of St. Charles and Joe (Tasha) Schott of Dover, 18 grandchildren, with another arriving soon. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son Boo, a grandson Colton, one sister, Lorraine Kulack and two brothers, Bill and Richard Schott.
Services to celebrate Bob's life will be 3 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, led by funeral celebrant Dianne Rislow. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lewisto Public Cemetery in the spring. Please share a memory of Bob at his online guestbook at
