WINONABeverly Ann Schroeder, 78 of Winona and formerly from Faribault, died Friday evening, June 28, 2013 at Sauer Health Care in Winona after battling COPD for many years.Beverly was born in Faribault on May 19, 1935 to Bernard and Anna Marie (McKenzie) Olson. While waitressing at the Lavender Inn, she was introduced to David Schroeder, and they were later united in marriage on December 16, 1968 in South Dakota. They moved to Winona on June 15, 1976 and were active members of the Eagles Club. Bev and Dave enjoyed playing pool and earned several trophies. She later performed secretarial duties and helped organize the leagues. Bev also loved the Minnesota Twins and never missed a game on the television or radio. She was a dainty yet feisty woman who also loved cooking, crossword puzzles, and card games. When her husband passed away in May 2010, Bev moved into the Sauer Home in Winona and enjoyed visiting with the friendly staff.She is survived by her son, Randy Knieff of Winona and daughter, Vicki (Jay) Borchardt of Faribault; step-children, Tammy (Don) Jindra of Owatonna and Jeff Schroeder of Winona; four grandsons and four great-granddaughters; and her niece, who was like a sister, Cherryl (Gary) Reichal of Madison Lake. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 33 years, David; sister, Donna; brother, Bernie; and great-nephew, Chris. Services to celebrate Beverly's life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant, Jenny Hoff.
