Betty Jean Livingood

Betty Jean (Raaen) Livingood, 82, died Sunday morning, September 2, 2018, at the Nursing home in Ostrander, Minnesota.
Betty was born June 18, 1936, in a log cabin near Peterson, to Gilmer and Cora (Fossum) Raaen. After attending country school, she married Robert Kenneth Livingood on February 9, 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, MN. Betty and Robert spent a majority of their life together working on their dairy farm on Highway 52 North of Preston, Minnesota. In the 1980's Betty worked as a home health aid where she enjoyed caring for elderly people. After Robert passed away in 2003, Betty moved to Wykoff. In her later years she enjoyed time at her Assisted Living apartment in Spring Valley and thereafter was admitted to the Rehabilitation and Nursing home in Ostrander.
Betty is survived by three sons: Kenneth (Traci McKenzie) Livingood of Mabel; Gary Livingood of Wykoff; and Alan Livingood of LeRoy. Grandchildren: Brady Livingood of Texas; Samantha Livingood of Mabel; Bryan (Lauren Wade), Livingood of Texas. Kyle (Denise Martin) Livingood of Georgia; and Heather Elizabeth Livingood of Arizona. Great Grand-children: Tasha Livingood and Paul Livingood, both of Georgia; Declan Livingood and Waylon Livingood, both of Texas; and Savannah Grace Livingood of Mabel. She is also survived by one sister, Donna (Milford) Olson of Peterson and Brother LuVerne (Joyce) Raaen of Mabel, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to Robert, Betty was preceeded in death by one grandchild, Savannah Jo Livingood, of Preston; her parents Gilmer and Cora Raaen, of Peterson, brother Glen (Helen) Raaen of Lanesboro, sister Shirley (Ervin) Rye of Rushford.
The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford. Visitation and family receiving line will occur one hour prior to the service with a luncheon immediately following the funeral. Burial (after lunch), at Grace Lutheran Cemetery (WEST) in Peterson. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to West Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Peterson.
