Bernita M. Schultz passed away August 28, 2017, at the age of 91 at St. Michael's Assisted Living. Bernita was born December 28, 1925, to Art and Susie (Erion) Beyer. She graduated from Lewiston High School, and went on to Winona Secretarial School. She then worked as a medical secretary the the Mayo Clinic. Bernita married Melvin M. Schultz in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 23, 1946. He died May 15, 1998.
She worked for Thora Cigar Company in Milwaukee. In 1949 she moved to Fountain City. She then worked for Filter Supply Company for 33 years.
She was a member of St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fountain City and a member of St. Michael's Ladies Aid.
Bernita is survived by a son, Terry Gene Schultz, of Lewiston and grandchildren, Erin (Larry) Ladewig, Heidi Gora, Ryan Schultz, Colin Schultz, and Dylan Schultz, great grandchildren, Hailey and Riley Ladewig, Kaitlyn, Samantha, and Jacob Gora, and a sister, Loraine Pecsok of Richmond, Virginia, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her baby sister, and her brother, Argene Beyer.
A memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 1 at St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fountain City, with Pastor Paul Jansen officiating. A visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 31 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Buffalo City Cemetery. Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview is assisting the family with arrangements.
