St. Charles,
Bernice Margaret Prudoehl passed away August 22, 2017 at her home. She was born to August and Lydia (Hein) Michael on April 25, 1918 in Elba Township, Winona County.
Bernice was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles. She was confirmed on July 24, 1932 by Reverend Kerman Kuckhahn. Her confirmation verse was Rev. Chapter 3, Verse 11: "Behold, I will come quickly and hold that fast which thou hast that no man taketh thy crown."
Reverend Kuchkahn also married Bernice and Arnold Prudoehl on June 20, 1939. Arnold and Bernice farmed the home farm, where she raised chickens and sold eggs. After many years of farming, they retired and moved to St. Charles. Arnold died on August 6, 1980.
Bernice was a member of Mary Martha LWLM and homemakers. She very much enjoyed coffee mornings with her lady friends. She loved working in her flower garden; her favorite flowers were mums and roses. Her favorite colors were pink and blue. She was well known for collecting cardinals and roosters. For all family dinners, she would be asked to bring her special dinner rolls. Bernice's nieces and nephews loved to visit with her. She found joy and beauty in ordinary things and lived her life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arnold, and siblings; Helen Michael, Dorothy (Happy) Munz, Venetta (Leonard) Siebenaler, Harlan Michael, Gladys Michael and George Michael.
