Bernice H. Dingfelder, 78, died Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN after a long illness. Bernice was born on November 14, 1929 in Winona, MN to John and Helen (Stroinski) Prodzinski. She married Earl Haefel in 1953 and were later divorced. Bernice married Don Dingfelder in 1962. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2006. Bernice graduated from Trempealeau High School and later went on to get her dietician certificate. She worked at different nursing homes doing what she did best, "cooking". Bernice loved playing cards, bingo, going fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernice was a member of Cathedral of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winona.Survivors include her three children, David (Nancy) Prodzinski, Terre (Jacob) Virock and Rhonda Viestenz all of Winona, MN; five grandchildren, Andrea (Jackson) Benson, Ryan (Alison) Prodzinski, Candace (Ben Fowler and his daughter, Marissa) Wilbright, Tanya (Barney Hohmann) Viestenz and Tiffani Viestenz; five great grandchildren (and was looking forward to the sixth on the way), Tia Benson, Cody Kleinschmidt, Hailey and Devon Hohmann and Ethan Prodzinski; sisters, Ruth Schindler of Winona, MN, Katie Scarborough and Delores (Howard) Hare both of Trempealeau, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Irene and three brother-in-laws, Greg, Ralph and Ervin.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 4:00pm at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel. Interment will take place later this spring. Friends may call on Thursday from 2:30pm until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
