Bernice C. Vogel, 83, of St. Anne Hospice and formerly of 104 Main Street died Thursday night, January 25, 2007, Community Memorial Hospital. She was born in St. Louis, MO on March 14, 1923 to William and Florence (Lanigan) Vogel. As a young family they moved to Winona, and Bernice graduated from Winona Senior High School. Bernice was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Over the years Bernice did clerical work at several local companies, among them NECO, Watkins, Inc. and Edstrom Music Company. She later worked at Fiberite until her retirement. She enjoyed living at Winhaven until it was necessary for her to enter St. Anne's due to Alzheimer's Disease. She patiently endured that as well as other health problems, never complaining. Bernice never married but enjoyed her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She was a caring, giving and kind woman who will be sadly and lovingly missed. Bernice is survived by two sisters, Marcie Pomeroy of Winona and Lorraine Anderson of Randolph, MN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and the following generation. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, William and Kenneth. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, January 29, 2007, at 1:00pm at The Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne of Winona with the Rev. Roy Literski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at The Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne of Winona.
