WINONABernard "Bernie" James Beeman, 63 of Winona, died surrounded by family on Friday, April 17, 2015 at home.Bernie, the oldest of four children, was born June 29, 1951 in Winona to Ray and Barbara (Englund) Beeman. After graduating from Winona Senior High School in 1969, he enlisted in the Navy on August 4, 1969 during the Vietnam War. Bernie was honorably discharged four years later and relocated to Helena, Montana where he had two daughters. He worked various part-time jobs in the area until moving back to Winona in 1987. Bernie worked at Fusion Coating, PCI, TDI, and finally drove a school bus. He married Cynthia Twohy on April 10, 1999 in Winona. In his spare time, Bernie enjoyed watching stock car races, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his devoted family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Cindy Beeman of Winona; mother, Barbara Beeman of Helena, MT; daughters, April (Jeremy) James and Brenda (Brandon) Copley; siblings, Roxy (Doug) Kohner of Winona, Darcy Winscot of Helena, MT, and Christopher (Lisa) Beeman of Helena, MT; and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his father, Ray Beeman.Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2015 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center led by funeral celebrant Brittany Horton.
