Bernadine E. Kammerer, 85, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. Bernadine was born July 31, 1921 in French Island, WI to Julius and Margaret (Thesing) Ashelin. She married Raymond J. Kammerer on January 24, 1946 in Winona, MN. Bernadine was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting and needle point and her birds. Bernadine was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its St. Elizabeth's Society. Along with quilting at church she was a longtime Key Leader for 4-H, a member of the homemaker's society and a member of the Club 99 Card Club.Survivors include her husband, Raymond; six children, Karen (Jeffrey) Walch of Elkador, IA, Ronald (Lynda) Kammerer of Goodview, MN, Lyle (Cynthia) Kammerer of Winona, MN, Daryl Kammerer of Lewiston, MN, Judith (Dean) Belter of Winona, MN and Jenelle (Kenneth) Faas of Winona, MN; grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Pope and their children, Andrea, Mitchell and Blaine, Kristin (Alan) Recker and their children, Quinton, Logan and Mason, Karissa Kammerer and her daughter, Mya, Brandon Kammerer, Tammy (Brian) Hanson and their children, Kaitlyn and Logan, Adam (Shelby) Kammerer and their son, Evan, Katie and Emily Kammerer, Amanda, Alisha and Benjamin Faas and Adam, Scott and Michael Belter; brothers, Vincent (Lorraine) Ashelin of Winona, MN, Thomas (Polly) Ashelin of AZ, and Romaine (Gloria) Ashelin of Winona, MN; sisters, Rosemary (Sylvester) Erpelding of Winona, MN, and Evelyn (James) Duellman of Minnesota City, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Raphael, Theodore, David, Victor, Wayne and George.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend William Becker officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona, MN. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Tribute Center in Goodview on Wednesday from 5-8:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 7:30pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. The family suggests that memorials may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
