Benora Post, 92, of Houston, MN, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, MN. Benora was born December 19, 1914 in Houston County to Olaus and Annie (Evenson) Norskog. She was raised on the family farm and attended Bridge Creek School. On May 22, 1941 Benora married Elmer John Post in Houston County. She worked at Grasby & Flat and Skifton's as a clerk. She was a member of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, as well as the Ladies Aide, Ladies Circle and the church choir. Benora's hobbies included working in her yard, flowers, birds, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress and was very devoted to her family and friends. She adored being a mom and a grandma. Survivors include a daughter, Judy (Fritz) Balsley of Stoddard, WI and a son, Jeff (Clara) Post of Houston, MN; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, Patrick (Marianne) O'Hearn of Green Bay, WI, their children Ryan and Isabelle; Ryan (Pirgo) O'Hearn of San Francisco, CA; Wendy (Jon) Meyer of Lake City, MN, their children Justine and Alex; Kari (Rick) Skifton of Zumbro Falls, MN, their children Shelby, Bailey, and Luke; Dustin (Heather) Olson of Wabasha, MN, their children Trenton, Kaleb, and Wyatt; a sister, Oranda Torgerson of Houston, MN; and a sister-in-law, Lenora Nibbe of Lake City, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and one sister. The Funeral Service for Benora will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 1:30pm at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, MN with the Reverend Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be at the Stone Church Cemetery in Houston. Friends may call from 5-7pm on Monday, March 19 at Hoff Funeral Home Houston Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
