Barry Hertel

Barry Leonard Hertel, age 61 of Winona, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – La Crosse, WI. 

Barry was born on February 22, 1963, to Keith and Betty (Harwood) Hertel in Grand Rapids, MN. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1981. Barry loved fishing and cheering for his Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Wild, Gopher Football, Gopher Hockey, and NASCAR.

He is survived by his son, Justin Gillespie; 3 grandchildren; siblings, Terry Hertel and Penny (Don) Pangburn; and many cousins. 

Barry was preceded in death by his parents. 

He will be laid to rest at Itasca Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids alongside his parents.
