RUSHFORD, MINN. - Barbara W. Davis, 80, of Rushford, was called home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, with her daughter and son-in-law at her side on Monday, January 1, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Barbara was born on February 24, 1926 in Pitts, Georgia to William Harley and Clifford (Clements) Walker. She lived in Georgia until the late 1940's when she moved to Virginia. She married William Floyd Green in 1940, in Cairo, Georgia. They were later divorced. She married James Davis in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1996. James died shortly there after. Barbara moved back to Georgia in 2004, to be near her sister. One year later she moved to Rushford to live with her daughter. Barbara was baptized on October 29, 1939, at Second Baptist Church in Cairo, Georgia. She was currently a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cairo. Barbara was always a very active church member. She worked as a bookkeeper and a legal secretary over the years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge for over 40 years where she held many offices including offices at the international level. Barbara will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. She is survived by one daughter: Barbara Glenda (John) Erdmann of Rushford, Minn.; one grandson and his wife; one great-grandson and his wife; one great-great grandson; one great-great granddaughter; one sister Mary W. Bryant of Cairo, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, and two sisters. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. with the Rev. David Preuss officiating. Burial will be at the St. John's Cemetery in Hart, Minn. Friends may call from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. There will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Thursday evening at the funeral home. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the St. John's Lutheran Church Hymnal Fund.
