Barbara "Barb" Jeanette Mollert, 83, of St. Charles, MN died on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN. She was born in Lime Springs, Iowa, on February 23, 1935 to Winfield and Agnes (Cleveland) Sanborn. Barb graduated from Cresco High School, Cresco Iowa, in 1953. She married Charles "Chuck" Mollert on March 5, 1957 in Rochester, MN. They resided in Lime Springs, Iowa for several years, then moved to the Mollert family farm near St. Charles, MN in 1967. Barb was well known to be an excellent cook, applying her skills at several local establishments including Carol's Cafe, Elba House, Clayt's Supper Club, and Eyota Cafe. Barb thoroughly enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in sports and music programs, as well as several trips to Branson, MO. with family. Barb was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Elba, MN., and a member of Quincy Valley Home Makers Club.
Barb is survived by her sister Marion Peter of Lime Springs, Iowa; her loving husband Chuck; children Jay (Kathy) Mollert, Sheloy Mollert, Andy Mollert, Perry (Bonnie) Mollert, Tim (Kim) Mollert, Sherry (Bill) Tuohy, Sally (Terry) Curran; and grandchildren Jeremy Mollert, Josh Mollert, Jenna (Adam) Schneider, Tony (Christy) Mollert, Cody Mollert, Corey (Tina) Fabian, Kyle (Sara) Mollert, Katie (Eric) Ickler, Tyler (Hetty) Mollert, Brady Mollert, Lance Mollert, Ashly Sylvester, McKenzy Sylvester, Colby Sylvester, Rily Sylvester, Devon Curran, and Carson Curran, as well as 17 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and sister Lenora Eiffler. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Chosen Valley Care Center, and Mayo Hospice for their great care and words of comfort.
There will be a Memorial Mass for Barb at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba, MN on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Timothy Biren officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
