Barbara A. Vater, 71, died of Leukemia Monday, April 25, 2005 at St. Anne Extended Health Care in Winona, MN. Barb was born June 16, 1933 in Winona, MN to Stanley and Frances (Newman) Przybylski. On May 5, 1953 she married John E. Vater in Winona, MN. Barb was a graduate of Cotter High School. She succeeded in receiving her CNA in December of 1990 and practiced at St. Anne's and did home health care. Barb was a member of Cathedral of Sacred Heart Catholic Church which she generously dedicated many years of service to. She had been a member of Cathedral's funeral lunch committee, becoming chair of the group more than eight years ago, was a Eucharistic minister, member of Cathedral Council of Catholic Women, playground supervisor for many years, quilter, was a Peer Minister and member of the Catholic Daughters of America.Survivors include her three sons, John of Monroe, WA, Steve of Winona, MN and Edward of Winona; six daughters, Mary Dragg of Winona, Marge (David) Heinlen of Winona, Barb (Paul) Heinz of Minneapolis, MN, Fran Vater of Winona, Catherine (Daniel) Jonsgaard of Winona and Rosemarie (Cliff) Waddy of St. Louis, MO; twenty one grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores Cieminski of Winona, Mary Fran (Ken) Burmeister of Apple Valley, MN and Terese (Jim) Przytarski of LaCrescent, MN; and three brothers, Joe (Eunice) Przybylski of New Mexico, Ed (Ruth) Przybylski and Dave Przybylski both of northern Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, brother, John and Robert and granddaughter, Taneshia T. Howard.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 10:30am at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. John Sauer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Burke Winona Chapel on Thursday from 2-8:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 6:00pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Pallbearers will be Joe Przybylski, Ed Przybylski, Dave Przybylski, Ken Burmeister, Jim Przytarski, Edward Vater and Steve Vater.
