Barbara A. Speltz

Barbara A. Speltz, 62, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at her home in Altura, MN. Barb was born October 31, 1946, in Wabasha, MN, to George and Clara (Lett) Burke. She married Dave Speltz on June 1, 1968, in Elba, MN. Barb had worked for many years for Lewiston Feed and Produce in Altura and most recently was working as a cook at the Altura Intermediate School in Altura. Barb was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Altura, Catholic Aid and the St. Theresa's Society of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, MN. She was also a member of the Lewiston Country Club. Barb enjoyed playing golf, cards, going to Viking football games and spending time with her family.Survivors include her husband, Dave; two sons, Thomas Speltz of Rochester, MN and John (Dawn) Speltz of Altura, MN; and brother, James (Elaine) Burke of Plainview, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 11:00am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Reverend Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Oak Ridge. Friends may call at St. Anthony's Church in Altura on Wednesday from 4-8:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 7:30pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
