Avis E. Waldee

ST. CHARLES, MINN. - Avis E. Waldee, 83, St. Charles died on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Avis was born on October 27, 1922, in Westbrook, Minn. to Arthur and Mary Geneva (Reeves) Hoyt. She was raised in Westbrook where she graduated from High School. On June 4, 1943, she married Robert Waldee in Dunnell, Minn. Avis and Bob moved to St. Charles in 1952, where her husband and father partnered in the St. Charles Hardware Store. She was a member of the Easter Star, and was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Avis is survived by her one son, Steve Waldee of St. Charles; one daughter, Lynne (John) Villios of Brooklyn, NY; three grandchildren: Robert, David, and Kate; and two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Jason. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Rev. Gerald Melby officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
